Ready to experience caffeine horror in a cup? Death Wish Coffee is one of the most intense, highly-caffeinated coffees sold in stores and claims to be the “World’s Strongest Coffee.” Containing a higher caffeine content than any other coffee currently available, Death Wish Coffee can replace your morning cup with an unforgettable energy boost. Here is our Death Wish Coffee review.
About Death Wish Coffee
Coffee Entrepreneurs Rule! Death Wish Coffee started as a small business in 2012 with ambitions of becoming the world’s strongest coffee brand. It has since grown to be internationally recognized, and the company just launched its newest blend, Medium Roast (2021). The new Death Wish medium roast is made from beans that have been grown at higher altitudes and include hints of caramel, roasted peanuts, notes of stone fruit, and a chocolate taste to finish. Who doesn’t love coffee that has a smooth chocolate finish?
Death Wish Coffee Caffeine
Let’s talk caffeine horror in a cup. Death Wish delivers a massive 54.2 mg of caffeine per fluid oz. That translates to nearly 600 mg of caffeine per cup, compared to the routine 100-200 found in most black coffees. A Dunkin’ original blend coffee contains about 15 mg of caffeine per ounce vs. the Death Wish 54.2mg per ounce, keeping this in perspective. How do the beans compare?
Bean Comparison
It’s all about the beans and roasting process. Warning! This is not your typical coffee since it is made from robusta coffee beans and contains 200% more caffeine than standard arabica coffee beans. The Death Wish roasting process is proprietary and is not shared with the public. So let’s stick to the beans.
We compared the whole beans of Dunkin’s medium roast to the new Death Wish Medium Roast. You will notice a few subtle differences. Traditionally, it appears as if Dunkin’s beans are much larger and more whole. Death Wish appears to have a few darker, more potent, and smaller beans. Dunkin’s beans win the best aroma and appearance as Death Wish beans have a heavier-than-air, less potent aroma. Let’s get some beans!
Where To Buy
Coffee that treats people right. In addition to buying it online, you can now find it in thousands of grocery stores across the US, including Walmart. What makes Death Wish more appealing is that it’s all organic and fair trade certified. Fairtrade standards ensure that goods are made with care to people and the planet.
Death Wish Coffee Review
Bring on our Death Wish. We brewed about 20 ounces of the Death Wish coffee using a Ninja CE251 coffee maker. We chose medium roast whole beans and coarsely ground the beans. The aroma of the beans reminded us of a heavy or dark roast coffee, but the taste can be described with one word. BOLD. Bolder than bold. We expected the taste to resemble a very heavy dark roast coffee, but instead, the taste was smooth and we actually captured the subtle caramel and chocolate finish. After a few minutes, the caffeine rush was intense and there’s no question that this brew is indeed powerful. This coffee really is the true horror of a cup that Death Wish promises to those who have a death wish!
